Autographs Of The Legends: The Once and Only Jimi Hendrix.

Jimi Hendrix. Without doubt the ultimate guitar master. He started a movement in guitar work and sound unseen before his time. The influence he has had, even today upon modern music, is the true testament to his musical genius and his forward thinking in sounds, way beyond his generation. Hendrix didn't have any knowledge of music in written notation at all, he played by ear alone, from those sounds that can come only from deep within oneself, from those dimensions which become open in our dreams. He saw that sudden magic that can appear in sound, and gave us all just a fleeting glimpse, of what can be done with simply a pure imagination, and a constant neverending guitar practice. Jimi was never without his guitar, until close to the end, and it shows in his pure mastery of it. He knew the fretboard inside and out, and from every other direction, those possible and impossible to us. There were no seeming limits to his ability. And if ever there were those limits which were possible, he died before they could ever became apparent, and so a legend was born.

In doing the background research for Hendrix what comes to the surface immediately, is how every story about him throughout his lifetime differs, and this is what legends are made of. When we admire a person so much, we all tend to make them bigger and larger over time, to try and make them somewhat godlike in stature, being totally different from ourselves. But when all is said and done, the simple fact remains, Jimi Hendrix was just a man with a vision, and simply a man who had the courage to take his vision to the world. Hendrix complained often that he felt it was the visual actions the people came only too see, not the audile, and he played with these impressive wild actions himself, a contradiction. Why? we will never truly know. Maybe he thought that he had to get the people to come and see, before they could really hear what he was trying to express. This is a nice dreamlike thought and I hope that this was exactly the case. The words in the music of Hendrix are truly beautiful, but have taken second place to the guitar music itself and human animation of Hendrix. I guess in theory he could have written anything, and the people would have just simply loved it, but he didn't do just that, and that in my opinion this is the Hendrix tragedy. Not his untimely death. But this mishearing, an unfortunate misunderstanding of what he was trying to express. There is no doubt you can feel to a degree what he is saying through his music, but you have to listen carefully as well, to gain that full message in his songs.

Even in his death of which there are so many versions. If you the reader, does some basic research yourselves, I am sure you will also possibly come to the same conclusion as myself. That whatever the cause of his death, we have that choice of the version that is most comfortable for ourselves.

It is in this spirit that I would like to share my version with you. The viewpoint of the skeptic and the dreamer. Jimi Hendrix was, from what I have read and researched, a person of an ultimate good nature. He put others first, and wasn't that the whole idea of the era, a family of all, without any division of any kind or sort at all. From the information I have gathered and purely in my own opinion, I honestly believe that Jimi decided that his success had caused so much pain. The sort of pain which is caused by money and greed. That this had defeated the cause of the music, and the words that not all could not hear so clearly as yet. And so he chose to end it. So as to save his friends from the suffering he had unintentionally caused by success, when profit is involved over real human purpose. This is my opinion totally, and it is a dreamers opinion totally, a dreamer who believes, that good in this world belongs, and is inside all of us. A goodness that just sits there waiting to be used to make that change, in the simpleness of a moment, or a life, or even the world. Everything and anything good can happen when you simply believe it can, and have the courage to act upon it when that time comes calling. This maybe a 60's view and I wasn't even born then, but maybe the influence of a generation, has past to some of us, for a real change into the future, wether a small change or a big change, it doesn't matter, as long as the change brings a smile, or even a simple good.

This is my view of Jimi Hendrix and I encourage all to look into his music, his message and his life's history, and make up your own mind for yourself. Choice is a gift, so don't waste your choice.

As you can surely tell I am a Hendrix fan. It isn't hard to tell is it. lol! But now to the autographs. Below are the authentic examples of Jimi Hendrix. And below that is a fake one, see if you can tell the differences between the real and the fake. I have also added the text that was typed into the auction listing to show just how low scum can go to try and make a sale for $50.00. Although I would not encourage this at all, I must admit I did write to the seller asking him just where the lepricorns and fairies fitted exactly into the story. ...Enjoy!

And a late addition. I just did a quick search on the 4th of Feb at 11.49 pm and came up with another great fake all the way from Germany. Again I would not encourage this, but I wrote to the seller, how do you say, you suck in German. ...Again enjoy!

This half page Jimi Hendrix Autograph w/"Peace" sign in black ink was given to me by a close friend who at the time was a Rock n' Roll Fanatic...like ME! Several years ago he got it from a Rock n' Roll convention in Northern California. He bought it from a woman who said she was a Berkley College Student at the time around 1968 and was invited to sit with Jimi and several of his friends in a bay area restaurant that was known for celebrity visits from time to time. She went on to say that she sat with jimi and friends for about an hour an asked him for an autograph and passed him her notebook he sat with the notebook in front of him for quite a while and kept tracing over the "PEACE" sign over and over again while talking and seemingly having a "GROOVY" time... and what you see in the pic is what he wrote and drew for her.

"Stay Sweet" and "Stay groovy" turned out to be two favorite autograph phrases for Jimi while signing autographs. Only THIS one has a "PEACE" sign which is really COOL!

I'll let YOU decide the value of THIS one. Bidding starts at $50.00...fair enough? Far out! Good luck! Buyer pays for priority shipping.
